The "Black Shadow” katana is a Bushi class 1095 mono steel blade that has been remounted as a cutting blade. This katana has a 28.5 inch 1095 steel blade that has been given a brand new hardwood tsuka core in a Rikko style shape (hourglass). The fuchi and kashira of this tsuka are matte finished Buffalo horn, and the tsuka has a Japanese imported cotton tsukamaki over Kabuto helmet menuki. The seppa are copper, and the habaki is copper plated. This katana is more or less the cutting equivalent of the Musashi Miyamoto katana in the Shogun section. It is a strong blade that can be used for cutting exercises, or left simply as an admired collectible.
